Die beiden auf dem Cover abgebildeten Spieler sind Julius Erving (Dr. J), zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung bei den Philadelphia 76ers, und Larry Bird von den Boston Celtics. Beide spielten auf der Position Small Forward.
Das Spiel erschien bereits 1983 unter dem Titel One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird bei Electronic Arts für den Apple II. Weitere Versionen gibt es für Amiga, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, IBM PC, Apple Macintosh und den Tandy RadioShack TRS-80 Color Computer.
