Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Tengen-Spielen für das NES erschien dieses Spiel zuerst mit Lizenz von Nintendo, diese wurde aber später, nachdem Tengen Module mit dem kopierten Lockout-Chip auf den Markt brachte, zurückgezogen und der Vetrieb verboten. Tengen brachte dann im Folgejahr die unlizenzierte Version in den Handel.
In Japan erschien das Spiel bereits am 10. Dezember 1986 unter dem Titel Pro Yakyū Family Stadium bei Namco Limited (Media-PN NAM-FS-3900).
