Atari: Warlords
Beschreibung / Werbetext (englisch)
Warlords. Win the profit war.
Warlords is a new video game concept that lets you win every battle. The object is to shield home castles from "fireball" hits, and to catch and launch "fireballs" against the enemy's castle wall, break through and destroy the dreaded Black Knight.
NEw 1, 2, 3 or 4 player simultaneous play.
Warlods is a new concept in competitive skill and challenge. One, two, three or four players can compete against each other or play as teams on the cocktail game, one or two on the upright – at the same time! The battle begins with a castle in each corner of the playfield. An animated dragon appears and releases fireballs. One player must defeat three Black Knights, two players, two Black Knights as well as fight each other, etc.
Exciting "Power Stone" control.
By controlling the Power Stone, a player can catch a fireball on his shield for defense, hold it momentarily, then redirect it at the opposing castles. The game ends when home castles are destroyed.
Extended Play
Bonus Battles. Abonus battle is awarded when all Black Knight castles are destroyed. Bonus battles ae not awarded in 3 or 4 player games.
Bonus Point Levels. For additional high point competition, Bonus Level points are awarded to a surviving home castle in the 1 or 2 player game. The last surviving home castle or game winner receives a bonus battle, achieves bonus level 1 and receives 1 times 5000 points. If a second game is won, the player progresses to level 2, receives another bonus battle plus 2 times 5000 points. Progression continues to level 8. Game difficulty also increases as higher levels are reached.
New Skill-Sense™ feature.
Warlords "senses" degree of player skill and automatically adjusts to provide equal game time opportunity for any degree of player ability. For a skilled player, Warlords provides immediate challenge. The player has 8 seconds to hit a castle wall before the second fireball is released. For the novice, Warlords "waits" for players to learn the game. The player has 30 seconds to catch a fireball before the second fireball is released.
Score Displays.
Individual scores are displayed inside home castle walls. Highest team score is shown on a "Team High Score" table which shows total of two players score while indicating their individual scores inside the home castles during the game. This table allows both players to enter teir initials under their high score. A high score table is also provided for a single player score and initials.
